01 About Halstead Yard

We make IT boring. The good kind of boring — where nothing drops, nothing leaks, and nobody notices us at all.

“They answer on the first ring and fix it before we've finished explaining.” — a Noe Valley dental office we look after

02 How we started

Built from one too many 5pm fire drills.

Halstead Yard started on Church Street after years of watching good San Francisco offices lose whole afternoons to IT that only showed up once things had already broken. A server that quietly stopped backing up. A firewall nobody had patched since install. A helpdesk that handed you between three strangers before anyone read your ticket.

We thought the whole thing could feel more like good hospitality than a service ticket — anticipate what you'll need, handle it before you ask, and keep the parts that break first out of your day entirely. Most of our work happens overnight and on a schedule, so your team mostly experiences us as things simply working.

Today we look after dental practices, architecture studios, legal offices and nonprofits from Noe Valley to SoMa — the kind of teams who'd rather think about their patients, their drawings and their cases than their patch cycle.

03 What we hold ourselves to

Four standards we won't quietly drop.

01

A name, not a queue

You reach a named engineer who already knows your setup. We keep running notes on your environment so you never re-explain the same thing twice.

02

A person checks the dashboard

Backups and patches get verified by someone, not just a green light on a screen. A backup we've never restored doesn't count as one.

03

Plain English, no jargon tax

Every review and recommendation comes in language you can act on. If we can't explain why something matters, we won't bill you for it.

04

Earn the renewal every month

Managed plans run month to month after a 30-day settling-in. If we're not earning our keep, you leave with 30 days' notice and your docs in hand.

04 How we actually work

Hospitality, pointed at your network.

We'd rather prevent the call than win the ticket. Most of what we do happens before you'd ever think to ask.

  1. 01We learn your office first — the devices, the apps, the people, and the thing that always seems to break on Fridays.
  2. 02We watch the parts that fail first and clear most of them overnight, so your mornings start quiet.
  3. 03When you do reach out, the engineer who picks up stays with it until it's genuinely done.

05 Who we look after

The San Francisco teams that keep us busy.

Different trades, same wish — to not think about IT. Here's who we tend to fit best, and what usually brings them in.

01

Dental & medical practices

Imaging software that can't go down mid-appointment, tidy backups, and the security hygiene your patients' records deserve.

02

Architecture & design studios

Heavy files, shared drives and deadlines that don't move. We keep the network fast and the renders backed up.

03

Legal offices

Confidentiality first — patched endpoints, MFA, and a helpdesk that understands why a lost file is never acceptable.

04

Nonprofits & property managers

Small teams wearing many hats. We take IT off every plate so staff time goes where it should — toward the mission.

We measure a good month by how little you thought about us.
